Three Words

I kiss you on the brain in the shadow of the train
I kiss you all starry eyed, my body swinging side to side
I don't see what anyone can see in anyone else but you

~ The Moldy Peaches

Three words float
in my cupped hands

A dandelion's clock
grasped slowly from the late summer breeze

The setting sun's rays through
the gaps between light fingers
turning white feathers into warm gold

Peaking between thumbs
every other moment
with the excitement of child

With those three words

To write you a song
and sing to the world

To open my hands, my arms wide
and blow the golden seeds to the world

I am not a musician
I know two chords

I am not a song writer
I sing only three words

So, talentless, in my hands
these priceless seeds
light as air and warmed by the sun
and watered by my skin
will grow

Valentine's Day is Stupid

to M.

Our love has no day

Yesterday we celebrated our love with smiles
Today we celebrate our love with flowers and silly poems
Tomorrow we will celebrate our love with laughs

Yesterday I loved you
Today I love you
Tomorrow I will love you

Our love has no day

Our love is all days

11 Aphorisms: Liberty, Love, Life, Death, Drugs and Courage.

by Brandon Toner
  • The modern person is confronted with two options: consume dangerous drugs or consume dangerous ideas. The former threatens to destroy their bodies, the later the very society which necessitates the former.
  • Mercy is the most noble act, vengeance the next. Punishment and forgiveness are for those in chains.
  • True liberty is the power to be merciful toward those who cause you injury.
  • Never fear to think, it is a confrontation with your self. If you cannot confront your self then you will not be able confront others.
  • Dangerous ideas are much more exciting and deadly then dangerous drugs.
  • The bored are the breathing dead.
  • Love can be the most charming of tyrants.
  • Euphoria can be bought, courage cannot.
  • 'Life or death' is a false dichotomy.
  • Materialism is valuing what you do not have and not valuing what you do have.
  • Aphorisms are widely read but often narrowly understood.
